Vintage Afghan Baluch Wool Bag Face Rug – 2′ × 2′4″

This one-of-a-kind vintage tribal textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition. Its compact, nearly square composition features rows of deep-red octagonal guls arranged around a highly detailed central medallion.

Angular burgundy motifs surround a small cream-bordered floral center accented with purple and green. The broad compartmented border alternates cream diagonal forms with small red squares, creating a bold architectural frame around the dark charcoal field.

The 24 × 28-inch format is consistent with a traditional tribal bag face—a decorative panel originally incorporated into a storage or transport bag. Removed from its original functional context, it now makes a distinctive small accent rug, wall hanging, tabletop textile or framed decorative piece.

Naturally occurring wear, slight pile variation, edge character and irregularity reflect its handmade construction and vintage history.
