Vintage Afghan Baluch Geometric Bag-Face Textile – 2′ × 2′4″

This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition.

A warm brown central compartment contains a small ivory-outlined geometric medallion woven in burgundy, red and dark navy. Angular surrounding motifs create a restrained centerpiece against the richer outer field.

Repeating burgundy chevrons fill the deep navy ground, while the outer border alternates ivory geometric panels with clustered red-and-navy rosettes. Subtle fading, low pile and slight irregularity reflect the textile’s handmade construction and vintage history.

The compact, nearly square proportions suggest that it may originally have served as the decorative face of a tribal storage bag. Since the original bag structure is no longer present, the piece is offered as a bag-face textile or small accent rug.

Measuring approximately 24 × 28 inches, it works beautifully as a wall textile, small entry or bedside accent, or decorative layer across a bench or console.
