Vintage Afghan Baluch Striped Balisht Rug – 1′7″ × 3′2″
$109.99
This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition and was likely originally created as the decorative face of a rectangular balisht storage or pillow bag.
The narrow field is divided into vertical bands of burnt orange, rust and deep brown. Repeating hooked motifs form a rhythmic striped composition, while a bold ivory geometric border brings contrast to the darker palette.
Measuring approximately 19 × 38 inches, this versatile textile may be used as a small bedside or entry rug, displayed as wall art, layered over a bench or converted into a decorative cushion front.
Age-related wear, slight asymmetry and edge character reflect its handmade construction and previous use.
