Vintage Afghan Baluch Distressed Bag-Face Textile – 2′ × 2′6″
$109.99
This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition and was likely originally woven as the decorative face of a tribal storage bag.
A dark central compartment is surrounded by a deep navy field filled with repeating burgundy rosettes and small ochre geometric accents. An orange-gold border frames the center, while the outer band features stepped burgundy motifs divided by angular ivory lines.
The central field shows extensive wear, exposed construction and tonal variation developed through age and previous use. A small ivory-outlined motif or reinforced section remains at its center. These irregularities give the textile a highly distressed and collected character.
Measuring approximately 24 × 30 inches, it is best suited for wall display, placement across a bench or console, or light decorative floor use.
