Vintage Afghan Baluch Mihrab Prayer Rug – 1′8″ × 3′9″
$129.99
This one-of-a-kind vintage prayer rug is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition.
Its dark brown-black field is defined by exceptionally fine rust-red linework. A tall stepped mihrab forms the central focal point, framed by slender geometric flowering columns and scattered dotted accents.
Three stylized architectural forms appear above the niche, while three complementary hanging motifs anchor the lower portion. Narrow patterned end bands and short ivory foundation fibers provide subtle contrast along the edges.
The nearly monochromatic palette gives this traditional textile a bold, graphic quality that works naturally in both collected and contemporary interiors.
Measuring approximately 20 × 45 inches, it may be used as a traditional prayer textile, small bedside or entry rug, wall hanging or decorative collector piece.
