Vintage Afghan Baluch Geometric Balisht Rug – 1′8″ × 3′4″

This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition.

Its narrow rectangular proportions are associated with the traditional balisht format, historically used for rectangular pillow and storage-bag weavings. Today, the piece works beautifully as a small accent rug, wall textile or decorative layer.

Nine stepped geometric medallions form three balanced rows across the burgundy-red field. Camel, ivory and dark navy details create contrast, while branching geometric forms and small diamond accents add movement between the larger motifs.

Multiple borders surround the composition in burgundy, navy, black and cream. Subtle fading, low pile and slight irregularity reflect the textile’s handmade construction and vintage history.
