Vintage Afghan Baluch Geometric Bag-Face Rug – 2′6″ × 2′1″

This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition and was likely originally created as the decorative pile face of a storage or saddlebag.

Its dark brown central field is organized into geometric compartments filled with maze-like motifs and fine orange and red accents. A small octagonal medallion outlined in ivory forms the focal point of the composition.

The surrounding deep navy field is decorated with repeated rust-red leaf or tree motifs. An outer border of ivory-outlined geometric panels adds contrast and frames the darker palette.

Measuring approximately 30 × 25 inches, this versatile piece may be displayed as a small accent rug, wall textile, tabletop layer, bench covering or decorative cushion front.

Subtle fading, tonal variation, uneven pile and slight irregularity reflect its vintage age and handmade construction.
