Vintage Afghan Baluch Wool Bag Face Rug – 2′2″ × 2′4″

This one-of-a-kind vintage tribal textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition.

The nearly square composition features rows of alternating burgundy and deep navy geometric forms arranged within a finely outlined red grid. Small rust, gold and ivory details punctuate the field and enhance its rhythmic, architectural appearance.

A distinctive ivory border frames the composition with repeating angular forms and multicolored rosettes. Deep burgundy guard borders, low wool pile and short ivory fringe give the piece its richly layered handmade character.
