Vintage Afghan Baluch Geometric Balisht Textile – 1′10″ × 3′

$89.99

This one-of-a-kind vintage textile is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition and was likely originally woven as the decorative pile face of a rectangular balisht pillow or storage bag.

Its central field is organized into rhythmic diagonal bands of hooked and stepped geometric motifs. Deep red and burgundy alternate with camel and tan, while dark outlines and small colorful details bring definition to the composition.

Multiple narrow tribal borders surround the field. Along the lower edge, woven black-and-ivory bands transition into an especially distinctive row of multicolored knotted accents in red, orange, blue, green and pink.

Measuring approximately 22 × 36 inches, this textile may be displayed as wall art, layered across a bench or console, used as a small decorative accent rug or adapted into a distinctive cushion front.
