Vintage Afghan Baluch Double-Medallion Rug – 2′2″ × 3′4″

This one-of-a-kind vintage accent rug is attributed to the Afghan Baluch weaving tradition.

Two large stepped medallions form the center of the dark navy field. Burgundy, ivory and ochre outlines create strong contrast, while smaller framed guls and circular rosettes fill the surrounding space.

A layered series of geometric borders frames the composition. The widest border features repeating mustard-colored angular motifs against a dark ground, complemented by burgundy zigzag guard bands.

Measuring approximately 26 × 40 inches, this compact piece works beautifully beside a bed, in an entryway, reading nook or displayed vertically as textile art.

Visible fading, low pile, tonal variation and wear through the upper medallion reflect the rug’s vintage history and handmade construction.
